In our new Electric Vehicle Business Line (EVBL) we develop and manufacture battery systems from 48V up to High Voltage for automotive and industrial applications. Valmet Automotive covers the full range from contract manufacturing to a TIER1 system supplier.


Job description

Continuous Improvement (CIP) engineer will have responsibility to investigate, develop and help source solutions to issues throughout the factory and will be responsible in leading operations that contribute towards improving manufacturing efficiencies by utilizing lean manufacturing & continuous improvement techniques.

CIP Engineer will support manufacturing project teams and through this work both internal and external customers in all our battery productions. The project team will be responsible for designing, simultaneous engineering from an ME subproject point of view, cost estimation in the RFQ-phase, implementation and installation as well ensure the ramp up of production according the project plan, budget and agreed quality level.



    • Work with projects and teams to identify new process improvement opportunities in the areas of quality, cost, performance, and preventive and predictive maintenance.
    • Support programs in ramp up phase to achieve set goals
    • Evaluate and analyze current process metrics and performance to identify areas requiring improvements.
    • Analyze and identify opportunities to reduce process variation, improve process capabilities and optimize process performance.
    • Develop process improvement initiatives to increase operational efficiency and productivity.
    • Facilitate the deployment of new and changed processes to provide improved results.
    • Develop standard procedures and policies to be followed by the Engineers.


We expect you to have

  • Experience in process control-, analysis tools and utilizing
    • Lean, Kaizen, 5S, 3Why, Kanban
    • Statistical Process Control (for example Six Sigma) and improvement, DMAIC
  • Ability to run process improvement projects and teams
  • Fluent English language skills, other languages can be taken as an advantage
  • Analysis and presentation skills, strong drive for decision and follow-up towards deployment
