In our new Electric Vehicle Business Line (EVBL) we develop and manufacture battery systems from 48V up to High Voltage for automotive and industrial applications. Valmet Automotive covers the full range from contract manufacturing to a TIER1 system supplier.

 

Valmet Automotive is looking for a Quality Director. 

 

Job description
In this position your task is to drive world class performance of quality function. You will be responsible for design and execution a comprehensive quality strategy. You are accountable in establishing a culture of operational excellence to achieve set targets and implementation of best practices to ensure delivery of highest level of service to our customers. You will translate competitive business targets into well-defined plans and empower the entire organization in achieving the deadlines. Your tasks include implementing and maintaining policies, procedures and controls together with monitoring business’ key performance indicators. Within a matrixed reporting environment, you will manage staff at all levels and key stakeholders by giving direction and advice where required and ensure communication between functions. 

 

Your task is to ensure compliance to ISO/TS16949 requirements in engineering, projects and manufacturing together with functional safety of electrical and/or electronic systems accordingly to ISO26262. You will develop safety architectures and plans to ensure compliance with standards. You drive functions’ compliance to VDA requirements. You will support functions with 5S improvements, process audit programs, effective root cause analysis and permanent corrective actions. 

 

We expect you to have

  • Bachelor's degree or Master’s degree in Degree in Electronics or Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
  • Automotive industry experience in an electronics manufacturing environment with a broad understanding of automotive industry requirements, standards, quality management systems and operational excellence activities.  
  • Experience of applying VDA and other automotive specific standards.
  • ISO/TS16949 and ISO 26262 implementation experience.
  • Lean and Six Sigma experience. 
  • Skills to communicate within different situations as well as make negotiations with confidence.
  • Ability to facilitate collaboration and communication with all operational teams as well as support functions worldwide.
  • Hands on leadership style and experience of managing a global team.
  • Innovative and strategic thinking style with strong problem-solving skills.
  • A high-level performance in challenging situations 
  • Strong organizing and time management skills.
  • Fluent English is essential, ideally with Finnish and German languages
  • Willingness to travel
