Senior Specialist Product Management (m/f/d); Munich; Germany

In our new Electric Vehicle Business Line (EVBL) we develop and manufacture battery systems from 48V up to High Voltage for automotive and industrial applications. Valmet Automotive covers the full range from contract manufacturing to a TIER1 system supplier.


Your challenge

Your main objective is to drive, facilitate and provide content to the overall Product Management Process which is based on several sub-processes and the business line strategy process. You are researching and gathering content for the strategy evolution and definition. And you are responsible to structure and layout the resulting strategy presentation for Board approval. Supporting the product management in all activities in the automotive industry as well as Truck&Bus and Off-highway industries, you consolidate all the topics across these industries.

  • Research e-mobility market for battery related technologies, topics, drivers and trends, developing know-how and expertise by using the full variety of information sources, tools and ecosystems
  • Consolidate market understanding and findings into a comprehensive market model, making potential future business visible, incl. market shares and prices of battery products down to component level
  • Own inhouse market data bases incl. improving and continuous updating, running reviews, queries and reports
  • Work with external market data e.g. IHS data base
  • Improve and maintain a comprehensive competitors analysis with its templates and documentation
  • Support the planning of product management budget
  • Be interface with all functional units and align with other business lines and with Group Business Development
  • Support sales activities and know customer B2B portals and Salesforce
  • Organize, lead and support meetings and workshops, internally as well as with customers and partner
  • Drive Product and Technology Roadmaps as well as Benchmarking evolution and definition in close co-operation especially with engineering, innovation manager, purchasing and sales
  • Visit events and / or plan and prepare VA event attendance incl. preparing content and presentations
  • Support and drive process definitions and improvement


We expect you to have/are

  • Sound commercial and technical qualification with a Master degree in Engineering, alternatively in Business Administration with technical background or similar
  • A minimum of 3 years of job experience in product management preferably with an automotive Tier1 system supplier
  • Knowledge preferably of the automotive, alternatively the off-highway e-mobility battery market of advantage
  • Resourceful and creative in researching market information
  • Understand the product from component up to system level as well as its functionality and performance parameters
  • Master Excel, PPT and other office tools professionally
  • Distinguished communication, networking, presentation and negotiation skills paired with a distinctive analytical strength
  • Understand the big picture and know how to transfer complex structures and correlations into comprehensive and easy to understand presentations on top management level
  • Hands-on mentality and open-minded, paired with a flexible and solution focused work style to cope with a fast growing work environment
  • German and English language with full professional proficiency
  • Located preferably in Munich
  • Limited travelling mainly within Germany and Europe
