Battery Cell Engineer (m/f/d); Munich/Bad Friedrichshall; Germany

In our new Electric Vehicle Business Line (EVBL) we develop and manufacture battery systems from 48V up to High Voltage for automotive and industrial applications. Valmet Automotive covers the full range from contract manufacturing to a TIER1 system supplier.


Your challenge

  • First contact to the international cell supplier & the battery customer R&D regarding cell issues
  • Part of the engineering core team of the project
  • Responsible for decisions on engineering level to internal and external stakeholders and internal release recommendations to middle and senior management
  • Coordination, planning, monitoring and presentation of cell project status for milestones at all sample phases
  • Responsible for the cell maturity regarding project milestones and for cell supplier steering
  • Assurance of the cell maturity level over entire project scope
  • Tracking and verifying of supplier cell tests incl. coordination of additional internal cell tests
  • Requirements engineering: Responsible for cell requirements
  • Providing cell information to all interfaces incl. engineering subdomains


We expect you to have/are

  • Masters degree in electrical engineering, physics, chemistry or comparable
  • +2 years experience and deep unterstanding of li-ion battery cells
  • Knowledge of all cell parts and their detailed functions and interactions
  • Electric, mechanic, thermal and chemical understanding of cell parameters
  • Knowledge of impacts and interdependencies due to changes within the cell
  • Experience with requirements management SW (i.e. Polarion, DOORS etc)
  • Experience with German automotive OEMs
  • High degree of communication skills, organisational and prioritisation skills and ability to work in a team
  • Fluent English & German communication skills
