Battery Systems Engineer Defects and Change Management (m/f/d); Munich/Bad Friedrichshall; Germany

In our new Electric Vehicle Business Line (EVBL) we develop and manufacture battery systems from 48V up to High Voltage for automotive and industrial applications. Valmet Automotive covers the full range from contract manufacturing to a TIER1 system supplier.


Your challenge

  • Responsible change and defect manager for battery projects
  • Accountable for the management of all addressed defects and changes
  • Responsible for the technical evaluation and impact analysis of the changes and defect on the battery system considering the requirements, test cases, defects and changes
  • Assurance of defects and change traceability and provision of metrics
  • Responsible for decisions on engineering level to internal and external stakeholders and internal release recommendations to middle and senior management
  • Assign and manage the change request and defect tickets with the relevant responsible stakeholders and approve the closure of the tickets
  • Track and support the status of tickets starting from the creation until the closure
  • Assure the plausibility and completeness of information of the change requests and defect tickets


We expect you to have/are

  • Masters degree in electrical engineering, automotive engineering, physics or comparable
  • +2 years experience and deep unterstanding of li-ion battery systems
  • Knowledge of all relevant battery system components and impacts and side effects due to changes within the battery system
  • Knowledge of battery service concepts & error codes
  • Experience with requirements management software (i.e. Polarion, DOORS, Teamcenter)
  • Knowledge and experience of TIER1 or OEM product development processes based on V-model
  • Experience with German automotive OEMs
  • Fluent English & German communication skills
