Senior Sales Manager Automotive (m/f/d); Munich/Bad Friedrichshall; Germany

In our new Electric Vehicle Business Line (EVBL) we develop and manufacture battery systems from 48V up to High Voltage for automotive and industrial applications. Valmet Automotive covers the full range from contract manufacturing to a TIER1 system supplier. 

 

Your challenge

Your main objective is to find, understand, qualify and win sales opportunities which are matching and accomplishing our strategic targets and thus support the growth of our EVBL. Executing this task, you do not just hunt opportunities, but get the holistic understanding of the big picture, while you are proceeding in a considered and reflected, yet ambitious, flexible and goal focused manner, in order to win and bring home the opportunities.

  • Understand customer organization and establish good and sound relations with stakeholders in all relevant functional units, specifically within procurement and on all levels
  • Be in close contact with customer and learn early about new opportunities
  • Organize and participate in strategical customer meetings on the right level to understand customer’s way forward and future plans within e-mobility and its environment as well as related topics and technologies
  • Support Product Management to define Sales strategy and priorities and execute the resulting Sales Roadmap accordingly
  • Work close with Project Management and carry opportunities from RFI to EOP
  • Drive and lead the sales and quote process in close alignment with Product Management until nomination and contract closing. Understand and implement necessary corrective action items, if necessary
  • Understand commercial targets of customer and how they correlate to market prices
  • Attend all important internal meetings and customer meetings to be on top of sales opportunities
  • Keep good relation with all internal functional units and make sure your quote process is matching customer timeline and is answering customer needs and requests
  • Lead and support business case calculations
  • Support Change Management until and after SOP
  • Align closely with your main interfaces in Product Management and Project Management
  • Identify and communicate to Product Management all product relevant trends within customer organizations
  • Put together commercial presentations for internal use as well as for customer meetings and give directions and/or support the preparation of technical presentations
  • Drive and support continuous improvement of all Sales relevant topics incl. the Sales Process
  • Attend and support trade shows, conferences and other industry networking events

 

We expect you to have/are

  • Sound commercial and technical qualification
  • Experienced in sales and automotive processes with a proven track record with a Tier1, preferably in the e-mobility environment and with German Premium OEMs
  • Strong customer orientation with the ability to align customer targets with internal priorities
  • Distinguished communication, networking and negotiation skills
  • Knows to build sound relationships and understands to translate customer needs into quote process
  • Hands-on mentality and open-minded, paired with a flexible, self-driven and solution focused working style to cope with a fast growing work environment
  • Skilled with MS Office, especially with Excel and PPT
  • German and English fluent in speaking and writing
  • Located in Munich or Bad Friedrichshall, Germany
  • Travelling within Germany and Europe approx. 50%
