In our new Electric Vehicle Business Line (EVBL) we develop and manufacture battery systems from 48V up to High Voltage for automotive and industrial applications. Valmet Automotive covers the full range from contract manufacturing to a TIER1 system supplier.


Your challenge

As an Indirect Sourcing Engineer you will be responsible for Investments sourcing in accordance with purchasing strategy and as well for the Purchasing of Non-Production Materials and Services and Sub-Contracting agreements. You’ll work with suppliers all the way through the bidding process, contract negotiations and supplier selection. You keep yourself up-to-date on technology vendor market trends and develop existing sourcing processes with principles of continuous improvement. Your internal stakeholders are (for example), Manufacturing, Maintenance and Facility Services, which you support all the way from small purchases to inclusive investments projects. The area of responsibility will be defined more precisely depending on the experience and expertise of the selected candidate.


We expect you to have/are

  • A degree in business administration or engineering
  • Over 5 Years of previous professional experience in strategic sourcing (i.e. supplier portfolio management, supplier selection, contract making and price negotiation), experience in working in international environment as advantage
  • Proven experience in successful negotiations and deep understanding of complex business agreements
  • Excellent interpersonal, co-operating and communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure, good multitasking and coordination skills
  • Experience in sourcing in facility maintenance, repair and construction projects or project investments considered as advantage
  • Skills to perceive market mechanisms and dynamics and possess ability for strategic thinking and planning
  • Assertive, results-oriented and proactive person in advancing new ideas and different approaches
  • English & German, both fluent spoken and written, other language skills are a significant advantage
