Senior Procurement Specialist, Direct

Job description:

We are looking for a Senior Procurement Specialist to join our Direct Procurement team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing the procurement processes within the Salo plant, ensuring efficient and cost-effective purchasing of direct materials.

This position is located in Salo, Finland with a possibility for hybrid work.

Key responsibilities include:

• Overseeing and optimizing procurement processes to ensure efficient and cost-effective purchasing and demand visibility of direct materials
• Participating key development projects within nominated categories
• Executing Request for Information (RFI) and Request for Quotation (RFQ) processes for own product categories.
• Handling engineering changes in purchasing ensuring seamless integration into procurement processes
• Overseeing the management of Bill of Materials (BOM) part prices, ensuring accurate and competitive pricing and cost efficiency in projects
• Managing supplier negotiations and ensuring high level performance and overall development initiatives
• Supporting the effective execution for the entire procure-to-pay cycle, from purchase requisition to payment processing
• Managing delivery problems related to procurement issues, ensuring timely resolution
• Maintaining an updating material master data and supplier master data to ensure accuracy, as well as integrating suppliers into B2B systems to streamline procurement processes
• Contributing to the development and execution of category area strategies and participate in decision-making processes and production improvement initiatives.

To succeed in this role, we hope that you have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Procurement or Supply Chain Management
• 3-5 years of relevant working experience on direct procurement
• Excellent co-operational, networking and negotiation skills
• Efficiency in supplier partnership management as well as internal stakeholder management
• Knowledge of procurement tools such as SAP or similar, as well as MS Office
• Experience in managing multiple product development related simultaneous procurement projects
• Strong strategical and analytical abilities
• Ability to manage stress and high-pressure phases
• Basic knowledge of APQP & PPAP
• Fluent spoken and written Finnish and English
