Job description
As Director Sustainability you will be actively supporting and driving the process of establishing IONCOR as a new brand and strengthen its role as a sustainability frontrunner. With a strong foundation from its Valmet Automotive heritage, you will be actively shaping IONCOR’s sustainability strategy and building structures that integrate sustainability at all levels of the organization.
Key responsibilities include:
- Development and implementation of sustainability in IONCOR’s business strategy based on changing stakeholder requirements, legislation and industry context
- Supporting corporate risk management by identifying, evaluating and mitigating sustainability related impacts, risks and opportunities
- Ensure continued compliance with applicable laws and standard (e.g., ISO14001) and customer requirements in the field of sustainability and environment by promoting awareness and supporting in their implementation
- Leading and developing the sustainability organization to support the independence process of IONCOR
- Coordination of sustainability related projects and activities with all relevant interfaces and at all levels of the organization, ensuring alignment with sustainability strategy
- Promoting process-oriented thinking and supporting specialist functions in the integration of sustainability in IONCOR’s business processes
- Planning and facilitating campaigns to increase sustainability related competence, awareness and engagement
- Representation of IONCOR with internal and external partners. Engaging with relevant sustainability initiatives in the industry and companies in the value chain to leverage collaboration in achieving IONCOR’s sustainability targets and strategy.
We expect you to have
- A masters’ degree or equivalent in economics, environmental management, sustainability or similar
- Professional experience in industry or consulting in the field of sustainability, environmental management or similar
- Profound knowledge of applicable sustainability standards and regulations (e.g. EU taxonomy / CSRD, GHG Protocol, SBTi, OECD Due Diligence Guidelines for responsible business conduct)
- Strong management skills to coordinate sustainability actions within the organization, ensuring alignment and achievement of all aspects of the sustainability strategy
- Leadership experience in teams and within matrix organizations
- Strong communication skills – ability to process and structure complex topics and explain them to an audience of non-sustainability experts. Ability to clearly communicate in a way that is engaging to all levels of the organization, to spark inspiration and leverage expertise in all areas of the business
